A frozen dessert, often made with fruit, water, sugar, flavoring, and milk or cream. Egg whites or gelatin are added at times to give a fine texture. Sherbet is often confused with sorbet, its vegan equivalent, or gelato, a similar product containing no dairy. Popular flavors include lemon, orange, and lime.
