Dec 11, 2008 Silver Pail Dairy Secures Ice Cream Cake Contract By

An Irish ice cream firm has secured a contract with American behemoth Baskin Robbins to export ice cream products to locations in the Middle East. Silver Pail Dairy has production headquartered in Fermoy, a small town of about six thousand in the south of Ireland. Despite its humble location, Silver Pail is no fledgling ice cream firm; producing almost 20 million liters every year, it is actually Ireland's largest ice cream manufacturer. Silver Pail's most popular brand is the internationally renowned Corrin Hill brand, which has won both Gold and Silver in the Great Taste and Catex food awards.
Contract terms stipulate that Silver Pail will export 300,000 ice cream cakes from its plant on Dublin Road to over 500 Baskin Robbins locations throughout the Middle East. This is not Silver Pail's first international endeavor, as Baskin Robbins approached the firm three years ago in a deal to produce ice cream for their European market.
Silver Pail's most recent contract with Baskin Robbins is expected to engender positive results for Fermoy's agricultural community. Sean Sherlock, agriculture and food spokesman for Ireland's Labor Party, predicts the contract will be "a huge boost for both the Fermoy area and indeed the food industry as a whole".
