I often get asked questions about how much certain ice cream franchises cost to get started. I recently recieved a question about Carvel ice cream franchise so here is what they typically charge:

Cash Requirements: $70,000 - $79,999

Total Investment: $250,000

Hope this helps!

The total investment is an estimated amount of how much it will cost you to get the business started (it includes the initial investment.)

My wife and I are opening our own dairy whip that will not be a franchise and we are looking for a cost breakdown reflective of the different categories. Would anyone be willing to help share this information with us? Even if it was just to give us an example and not your factual information, we are just trying to get a solid gauge on how much to expect for misc. operating costs, etc. Thanks!

Are you making your ice cream on site? Will you sell soft serve ice cream? How about ice cream cakes or any other non ice cream products?

It is generally a good rule to try to keep $20,000 in extra cash flow to cover any unexpected costs.
