View Full Version : Whirl A Whip Ice cream Machine
An email question I recieved:
does anyone have any info on whirla-whip machines? where can I get one? how much? who to talk to about them? all info would be helpful
I dont think they make these machines anymore. You would have to sweet talk someone out of their machine - and these days no one is giving their whirla whip up. When DQ's blizzard came into play the whirla whip was curt and its been 20 years since I've seen one.
Good luck in your quest - but if the whirla whip website isn't selling it - thats not a good sign.
You might try posing your need for a whirla whip in the ice cream classifieds on this page or some other ice cream specific sites or magazines.
Just read on roundamerica.com where the Dakota Drug store in Stanley, ND bought several whirla-whip machines during the 60's. Might be worth checking out.

I can attest to the above comment that Stanley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanley,_North_Dakota)'s Whirl-a-Whip machine(s) is in working order and they made a fantastic treat. My wife and I met her mother there the other week, as the town is almost halfway between our town of Minot, ND and her town of Williston, ND on Highway 2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Route_2), which runs west to Everett, WA and east to Minneapolis, MN.

I inherited my dad's Whirl-a-Whip machine from the early 1950s. It still runs and is in excellent shape. I need some of the stainless steel "cones" though. Am about to retire from my writing/marketing consulting business and am thinking about opening a small shop with either my old machine or buying a new Whirlawhip center I've read a bit about. Any thoughts? ideas? SS cones?

There you will find the successor of whirla whip. The company is located in Germany and very successful. They can help you with spare parts and are specialists for new ice cream mixing machines world wide.
Good luck:)
