As people are becoming more and more aware of the environment, there is a growing trend for restaurants to become more environmentally friendly.
The ice cream business is no exception. Small ice cream businesses are popping up everywhere, offering all-natural and organic flavors made in stores that are as energy efficient as possible, and offer nothing but recycled, bio-degradable materials. Larger franchises are making the transition as well.
But all of this comes at a cost. Environmentally friendly does not mean cheap. And that means less profit for the ice cream businesses that choose to "go green."
Is this something that you as ice cream business owners would be willing to do? Is the extra cost of being environmentally friendly worth it to you? Have you tried to "go green" before, only to find it was too difficult and expensive? What other issues do you feel might keep you from taking this route?
All of your questions, comments, and stories are welcome on this subject! I look forward to hearing from you.
