How far does a pound go?

Hi,

I am opening up an ice cream shop in the next couple months and I am working on the cost analysis (so frustrating). What I need to know is how far a pound of topping goes? Sprinkles, Minin Gummy Bears, Crushed Reece's Cup, etc. How do I find this out without having to be in business already?

First you will need to determine how much of the toppings you will put on each serving... for example: say you put 1 oz of topping on each serving. then 1 lb of toppings would last for 16 servings. or if you put a 1/2 ounce of toppings per serving, then 1lb of toppings would last 32 servings.

You will have to play with the amounts to determine what portion size you want to use and then you can calculate from there.

Does anyone else measure the amount of toppings they put on their ice cream portions?
