hey guys!

I'll be 21 this spring and Im trying to make some serious money this summer and maybe even start a business that I can grow bigger, I thought it out and I want to start an ice cream truck business but I know nothing about it so I figered that I would come to the pros for advice.

Im still in the conceptual stages of this but im looking to get advice on things like insurance, the best places to get ice cream, any tips and tools of the trade, and pretty much any advice would be great right now.

insurance- I know it varys greatly but I was hoping some one could help me out with just an idea of how much I would have to pay each month

the truck - I do not own a truck now but does anybody have any suggestions? what are day-to-day expenses and even month-to-month?

business structure - I have an idea about how to go about doing this but I would love advice from someone who knows what theyr doing.

any advice at all would be great, thanks guys!

btw I am looking to sell novelties NOT soft icecream

First place to start is your area Government to see if they allow ice cream trucks and if the health inspectors and law departments have any requirements.

I have checked with my township and actaully have the permit application, before I send it in I just want to make sure I will be able to actually pull off an ice cream truck business, also they ding me the $100 "application fee" its great!

Insurance: Walk into the nearest office and ask them. It depends on driving record age and many other things like the value of your truck when finished.

The best place to buy ice cream: Search the net for local supplier or post your location and someone near you may be able to help.

Business structure: you said it all with your question ( someone that knows), go see a lawyer and an accountant.

thanks alot! and my final question

is getting into this business as easy as it seems?

as in - get permits, get the truck, get insurance, get ice cream and hit the road selling?

along with keeping track of finances and inventory.

I would say yes.
But
At your age insurance could be a B
It takes a lot of work and money to build a good truck.
Some places it's near impossible to get permits.
Some places it takes months to get permits.
