hey everyone i have came across this very helpful forum and have been reading a lot of your topics... im actually in the process of getting my ice cream truck business up and running... i bought a truck and allready cut out the window and took care of all the mechanics stuff... im just not sure about the freezer and i find myself confused everyday because some people tell me that my chest freezer on there with an inverter is fine and others tell me its not and i need to get a cold plate freezer... what do you guys think? id rather get away with a chest freezer because its so much cheaper and i allready have it... and would you happen to know anyone with a coldplate freezer or a truck for sale? thanks a lot

Check the Charlotte NC Craigslist. There is a fellow selling a refurbed Good humor high top van with a huge cold plate freezer for $5000. He says the setup is road ready.
Good luck!!

I myself am in the same situation but iam choosing to go with the cold plate freezer. (1) it is your most important investment, (2) dont wanna hassel with inverters, alternaters, batteries, and down time.
i wish i could find a good used one, but you can get em new from nelson cold plate freezer.
GOOD LUCK;)

What kind of details do you need, find a window manufacture, decide what size you want and where you want it, if you can't install it go to an auto glass place and they will put it in.
